Library catalogue and system out of action Tuesday 29th of August

Our library management system, Koha, along with our online catalogue and our self-issue machines, will be out of action from 7:00 am on Tuesday the 29th of August. This is for a system upgrade.

We expect the the upgrade will be completed and the system up and running again by lunch time, although it may be longer, depending on how the process goes.

During this time users will not be able to search our catalogue or renew their books.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

Access reading lists on our catalogue

We have begun adding reading lists to our library catalogue to make it easier for students and staff undertaking courses to find the books they need.

You can find the link on the left hand menu of the catalogue as pictured above.

The reading lists currently featured are from the University of Northampton nursing courses and medicine at the University of Leicester, as well as the nurse prescriber course.

We hope you find it useful.

Advance warning of disruption to library services on the 16th and 17th March

Last year we took the decision to review our library management system (the software that runs our catalogue and allows us to issue and return books etc.). Following on from that process we decided to switch to a new system - Koha.

What does this mean for all our users?

There will be some disruption on the 16th and 17th of March to normal service while we transfer to Koha which means our catalogue will not be available.

What do you need to know now?
  • If you need a list of books you have borrowed from us please print this (or ask staff for help) before March 13th. It will not be possible to provide you with a list after this date.
  • The Bookmyne app will no longer work from March 16th.
Please contact one of the libraries if you have any questions.

Library closures Monday 27th January

"This new system is super hi-tech"
All the libraries will be unstaffed on Monday the 27th of January because of staff training.

We are moving to a new library management system and the whole team will be spending the day getting to grips with the new catalogue, finding out how to issue, return and reserve books etc., before we go live towards the end of March (more on that later).

24 hour access will be available to registered users as normal at the Berrywood and Richmond libraries, but Isebrook Library will be closed for the day.

Apologies for any inconvenience.
